Our statement of faith highlights God's LIFE-in-life gospel dream that his LIFE would dwell in human life.
1. We believe in one God existing eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit by means of the divine LIFE unique to himself.
believe in God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, perfect in
holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power. We rejoice that he
concerns himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that he hears and
answers prayer, and that he saves from sin and death all who come to him
through Jesus Christ.
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is God's
only Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, sinless
in his life, making reconciliation possible between God and man by the
blood he shed on the cross for the forgiveness of sin. We believe that
he is God himself. We believe in his bodily resurrection, his ascension
into heaven, his high priestly intercession for his people. We believe
in his deity and supreme authority as Lord of all. We believe in his
personal, visible return to the world according to his promise.
believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father to convict
the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and to generate,
sanctify, comfort, equip and empower those who believe in Jesus Christ.
believe in God's Kingdom, his eternal plan from before the beginning of
time, a plan based on his own sovereignty in which his revelation is
the basis of faith for people made in his image to bear his LIFE.
believe the Holy Spirit has inspired the Bible to be God's revelation
of himself, his plan and his word. His original inspiration in Hebrew
and Greek was without error and our interpretations are always subject
to God's sovereignty and correction. When interpreted according to his
will, the Bible becomes the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice
for all Christians.
7. We believe
people were created in the image of God, to bear his LIFE within.
Rebellious dependence on their own lives is the basis of all sin and
results in all people falling short of the glory of God. Faith,
repentance, confession, baptism, and submission to Christ's salvation
and Lordship restore God's intent for us all.
8. We believe in the final bodily resurrection of all the dead -- those that are saved to eternal life in heaven and those that are lost to eternal damnation in hell.
believe in the reality and personality of Satan, the enemy of God and
destroyer of all men. Ours is a spiritual warfare against his
principalities and powers in the heavenly places.
10. We believe
in the church, the living, spiritual body of Christ, with Christ himself
as the only head and all those who bear his LIFE as members. We believe
that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, buried
with him in baptism, and raised to walk in newness of life with its
associated worship, faith, fellowship, ministry, evangelism and mission.
We believe in the unity of believers as expressed in the essentials of
our faith: one body, one spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one
baptism, one God and Father of us all.
